Podcasting in 2022: Video is a must.

Here is my 22 reasons to add video to your podcast in 2022:

1. Podcasting “audio only” is a thing of the past. V1 of a show. We learned adding video has evolved this content medium

   
   2. People are visual, video is an element to lean into and if you add video you can maximize awareness on all social media platforms.

   
   3. I’ve listened to podcasts that don’t have a video element and I wish they did.

   4. YouTube is one of the largest social media platforms and it will expand your reach of viewers.

   
   5. Listeners can be viewers too.

   
   6. Show and tell people!

   
   7. Possible to have a higher chance for sponsors (clothing, props & product on set etc)

   8. Video adds that layer of credibility. Showing where you are who you are with.

   9. Video is popular, and expected in 2022.

   
   10. Video can be clipped for long and short form content

   11.-15. You will have content for Instagram, Facebook, Tiktok, YouTube, and Linked-in

   16. Video is a fun world to be extra creative, think about set design & fun props to bring the show to life!

   17. Video is searchable by Google.. use those search terms in your captions and titles

   18. Showing your face can build a deeper audience connection to stories, I have had countless times where my guest was emotional and their expression made the show so dynamic & real.

   19. Random but capturing the excitement of surprises! I have had guests and hosts surprise each other with gifts and that is SO fun to capture on video. Believe it or not, we had a surprise engagement happen on one of our video podcasts! That was special and had TONS of views ;-)

   20. Listening to a podcast is for convenience, of the listener, they can pause, start anytime, truly there is no restriction on time. Video makes the podcast even more personalized content. Podcasts are portable and have direct connect with audience. Adding video maximizes these efforts.

   21. Creating a memorable show: Adding video adds visuals to the podcast episode that can be memorable for the guests on the show

   22. Personalizing the “set” thinking of holidays, show themes etc.
